FAQ

Elderberry is a plant that is most highly recognized as a natural health remedy to support immune systems. Elderberry is known to have powerful antiviral properties that are especially helpful for upper respiratory infections. All of our elderberry products are made from the dried berries of the Sambucus Nigra plant.

When it comes to taking elderberry, we always recommend speaking with your doctor and conducting your own research. Some of our customers take it all year, while others only take it when they need to boost their immune system. A serving size for an adult is approximately one tablespoon, whereas a serving size for a child is one teaspoon. Elderberry can be taken once a day or up to three times a day depending on your needs.

Ingredients and price are the two factors that set us apart from store-bought elderberry syrup. In our syrup, we utilize raw, local honey instead of glucose syrup and other additives. In addition, we do not use preservatives in our syrup, and it costs about half as much as store-bought elderberry syrup.

In the refrigerator, our elderberry syrup lasts for around 60 days. Our elderberry syrup can also be frozen in silicone ice cube trays for up to 6 months and then thawed out in smaller amounts as needed. This is an excellent alternative for families who do not plan to use elderberry syrup as a prophylactic measure on a regular basis.

We always recommend checking with your physician and making the decision that makes you most comfortable.

While we use organic ingredients in our products, we are not USDA certified organic.

Our syrup is “non-potentially hazardous,” which means it does not create an environment conducive to the growth of harmful microorganisms. Our advice to refrigerate upon arrival are for quality control purposes only, not for safety reasons. Being out of the fridge for even 4 or 5 days may shorten the shelf life of our product by a few days, but it will not jeopardize its safety. It’s best to put it in the fridge right away when you get it!
